WELCOME to Civil War Books

Welcome to Our Website

This site is devoted to the Civil War in general, and to our award winning books about the Civil War, in particular.

Our books were written to honor the men and women (yes, there were some women involved in the Civil War effort) who served on both sides of the battle lines.  We make no judgments, nor do we try to influence our readers to support one side or the other.  We simply want to tell you what happened.

So You Think You Know Gettysburg? wins Bronze Medal at Book of the Year Awards!

We have been notified by ForeWord Reviews that our latest book, So You Think You Know Gettysburg?, has been selected as the Bronze Medalist at the 2010 Book of the Year Awards.  Representing more than 350 publishers, finalists were selected from 1400 nominees in 56 categories.  So You think You Know Gettysburg? was one of eight finalists in the Travel Guide category.

Winners in each category were selected by librarians and booksellers and were announced on June 25, 2011 at the American Library Association's annual conference in New Orleans, attended by more than 11,000 visitors.

Congratulations to Indiana:  One Pint at a Time and Museum Companion to Los Angeles, the two books selected ahead of us.   We feel proud and privileged to have been selected for the Bronze Medal.
